The last of our three talks for 2019 focused on continuing Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s call toward social justice takes place on July 28 at Heights Christian Church (HCC). The speaker will be Rev. Dr. Marvin McMickle, who recently retired as president of Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester, New York. The event will also include a commemoration of Dr. King’s visit to HCC on the same date 54 years ago.
Dr. McMickle is well known to Greater Clevelanders, having served as Senior Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church from 1987 to 2011, and as President of the Cleveland NAACP, Shaker Heights Board of Education, and Greater Cleveland Urban League at various times during that span..
Note: Porch Talks will be held outdoors (weather permitting) from the porch where Rev. King spoke in 1965. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. In the event of rain, the talk will move indoors.
A facilitated follow-up conversation session, also free and open to the public, will be held in the Campbell Room at Heights Christian Church on Wednesday, July 31, at 7 p.m.

We have 4′ x 12′ plots available for the 2018 growing season. Suggested contribution is $30, which covers your plot and water. Check it out on Daleford Road between Van Aken and Winslow.
