Stop Asian Hate March 3/28 @1 pm

We grieve the loss of 8 lives in Atlanta – 6 of whom were immigrant Asian women. We grieve and recognize that this violence – including the 150% increase in anti-Asian hate incidents over the past year – is part of a larger pattern of systemic violence. We grieve and recognize that six of the eight killed were immigrant, working-class, Asian women perceived as sex workers—a subset of the Asian community that has historically been invisible and therefore targeted for abuse and violence every day.
To curb this vicious and escalating cycle, together we must fight to dismantle all oppressive systems that thrive on violence against us.
Join us in solidarity for a rally and march through AsiaTown to honor the victims and speak out against the resurgence in anti-Asian violence and racism.  In a year where we have all been told to “go home,” we hold this space to show our community that this is our home.
Together, we rise. Together, we are Cleveland strong.
This event takes place in AsiaTown on Sunday, March 28th from 1pm-4pm. Masks and physical distancing are required.

Ash Wednesday

Lent is Coming – “Again & Again: a Lenten Refrain”
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17.
6:30 to 7:15 pm – Since we cannot gather in person we will be doing “Ashes to Go” from the circular drive on Winslow Road.  Pastor Roger will be there masked and gloved to provide the mark of the cross.  The first 15 minutes are reserved for those who live some distance from the church so that they can get back home in time for our 7:30 Service.  If you live in Shaker plan to arrive close to 7:00 in case there is any backup.  Pastor Roger will have to stop at 7:15 to be prepared for worship.
