Our Hope and Call 10/28

Join us for a special presentation on Oct. 28. As part of our 10:00 am worship, Kate Gillooly will preach a sermon on “Our Hope and Call.” This dramatic presentation shares the stories of call to ministry experienced by lay people and encourages all of us to discern God’s call to us in our daily lives. This sermon is part of Kate’s thesis for her Doctor of Ministry degree. All are welcome – bring a friend!

Children’s Sabbath Oct. 21

On October 21, we will join with other congregations all across the country in the National Observance of Children’s Sabbaths. Created by the Children’s Defense Fund, this is a weekend to lift up the needs of children nation-wide. The theme this year is “Realizing Dr. King’s Vision for Every Child: Lives of Hope, Not Despair.”We will focus prayers, worship, education and action on  the urgent problems facing our nation’s children, exploring sacred texts and teachings that call us to love and protect children, responding with outreach and advocacy, and—most importantly–inspiring new, year-round action to improve the lives of children. Together we inspire change that will improve the lives of children!
